PN100 - Fundamentals in Practical Nursing
Prerequisites: BIO130/BIO130L and GS100 or GS102 with a grade of “C” or better
Prerequisites or Concurrent: BIO131/BIO131L, PSY 101 with a grade of “C” or better

This course will introduce practical nursing students to the basic principles and concepts of Nursing practice based on the Clinical Judgement Model (nursing process). Students will begin to integrate the core values of physiological, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of health promotion across the lifespan. The student is expected to acquire knowledge of basic scientific and communication principles, which can be applied to multiple clinical situations.

PN101 - Fundamentals in Practical Nursing Clinical
Prerequisites: BIO130/BIO130L and GS100 or GS102 with a grade of “C” or better
Prerequisites or Concurrent: BIO131/BIO131L, PSY101 with a grade of “C” or better
Corequisite: PN100
In this course, students will be introduced to the practical nurse's scope of practice and fundamental concepts of clinical care across the life cycle utilizing the Clinical Judgement Model (nursing process). The student views the patient as a complete person with physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs. An emphasis will be placed on client safety and infection prevention.

PN200 - Health Restoration
Prerequisites: BIO130/BIO130L, BIO131/ BIO131L, GS100 or GS102, PN100, PN101, PSY 101
Corequisite: PN201
